On 7 December 2023, two supporters of Fight Racism! Fight Imperialism! were violently arrested at a protest in support of Palestine outside the Scottish Labour Party's Winter Gala dinner in Glasgow. The protest was called by the Gaza Genocide Emergency Committee in opposition to Labour party leader Keir Starmer who was speaking at the event. Police Scotland deployed a snatch squad against the two pro Palestine protesters; both were assaulted by the police and they were released after a night in custody. No bail conditions were imposed but the fight isn’t over. Both are awaiting trumped up charges of police assault, resisting arrest and breach of the peace.

These charges are fictitious; the real crime is the heavy handed political policing used to defend Labour Party leader and pro-Zionist, Keir Starmer, who travelled up from London, and Scottish Labours' festivities.

We must defend the right to defend Palestine so we are launching a Defence Campaign to get the charges dropped! We are looking for pictures or videos of the arrest as well as for anyone who witnessed the arrests to send witness statements to glasgowdefence@gmail.com

We will also be protesting outside the Procurator Fiscal's office to demand the charges are dropped.
