Let them stay. It’s simple.
There’s a guy who met a girl, got married, settled down, holds a job. He’s raising a family; a wife and two girls, out in rural Australia. They’re wanted in this community: they contribute, they fit in: they’re us.
They’re the Australian story. New people in a harsh land, making the best of it, working in the community, holding a job, starting a family. Having a go.
Everyone thinks they belong here.
Everyone except a small handful of people in Canberra they’ve never met. Two days ago, those people in Canberra forced this family onto a plane and shipped them out to Christmas island.
But we can show this family we care. We can say: you’re welcome here. This father’s day, I’m asking you to simply sign this petition, and think about becoming a supporter.
Because being a dad isn’t just taking care of your kids. It’s also helping other dads. That’s the Australian way. Bring them home.
