Myatt’s Fields Park is a much-loved green space at the heart of Lambeth — a place where families gather, children play, and our community comes together. The park depends on a small depot and office to manage daily operations, community outreach programmes and essential maintenance, all managed by us, the Myatt’s Fields Park Project charity.

Over a period of years, Lambeth Council had approved — and jointly planned — the redevelopment of this depot, spending significant public money preparing the project. Yet, just days before construction was due to begin this summer, the Council suddenly withdrew its funding.

The redevelopment of the depot building into a space that is fit for purpose has been at the heart of our planning for the future of our park - for our activities, partners and volunteers.  Without a functioning depot, the park’s operations and community work are severely limited. We cannot offer it for hire. Stuck in limbo, we are unable to raise funds for essential maintenance or deliver many of the services on which local people rely. We call on Lambeth Council to restore the funding and honour its commitment to the depot redevelopment — ensuring Myatt’s Fields Park can continue to thrive as a safe, welcoming, and well-cared-for space for everyone in our community.
