We, the undersigned members and supporters of the Iranian community in Denmark, respectfully call upon the Danish authorities to conduct an independent and impartial investigation into concerns regarding possible foreign influence and intimidation directed at Iranian dissidents exercising their democratic rights in Denmark.

Our concerns relate to Ms. Parisa Salmasi, an Iranian-born resident of Denmark, whom we understand to be employed in a civilian capacity by the Danish National Police. We have seen what appears to be an identification badge bearing the words “Rigspolitichefen, civilt ansat.”

During numerous peaceful demonstrations organized by Iranians protesting against the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ms. Salmasi and three individuals believed to be her relatives have regularly attended as counter-protesters. According to multiple witnesses, they have displayed flags supporting the Islamic regime in Iran, used powerful loudspeakers to disrupt the demonstrations, shouted insults toward protesters, and openly expressed support for the Iranian regime.

Many protesters have also reported that photographs and videos of demonstrators have been taken and later shared on social media. Given the documented history of the Iranian authorities monitoring and intimidating dissidents abroad, these actions have caused significant concern and fear within the Iranian community in Denmark.

We do not ask the authorities to presume anyone’s guilt. However, we believe these circumstances warrant an independent investigation to determine whether any individuals involved have acted on behalf of, received support from, or coordinated with the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran or any organizations connected to that government.

If such links were to be established through lawful investigation, we believe the Danish authorities should take all appropriate legal measures to protect Denmark’s national security, uphold democratic freedoms, and ensure the safety of individuals exercising their fundamental rights.

We therefore respectfully request that the Danish authorities:

• Conduct an independent investigation into any possible links between Ms. Parisa Salmasi, her companions, and officials or entities affiliated with the Islamic regime in Iran.
• Examine whether any activities intended to intimidate, monitor, or interfere with peaceful protesters in Denmark may have been coordinated with or supported by foreign actors.
• Ensure that all public employees, including those employed by the Danish National Police, are subject to appropriate security assessments where credible concerns of foreign influence exist.
• If the investigation establishes that these individuals have acted on behalf of, or in coordination with, the Islamic regime in Iran or have otherwise engaged in unlawful activities on Danish territory, we respectfully request that the Danish authorities take all appropriate legal measures available under Danish law, including, where legally justified, revocation of any applicable residence rights and removal from Denmark.

Denmark has long been recognized as a country that values democracy, freedom of expression, and the rule of law. Iranian dissidents who have sought safety in Denmark should be able to exercise these freedoms without fear of intimidation or harassment.

We respectfully ask the competent Danish authorities to investigate these concerns thoroughly, impartially, taking into account the films, documents, and other evidence we have collected, and in accordance with Danish law.
