Default vegetarian means that instead of school lunches being full of meat, that they instead will be vegetarian. It will work like this: lunch will be vegetarian to start, then you will be able to opt in for meat.   For example, instead of there being tacos with meat in them, there could be tacos with beans. Then if people really wanted, there would be minimal meat set aside that people could ask for. 

What effect does meat waste have on the environment and the earth. Well, on the environment, meat waste can contribute to greenhouse emissions and climate change. That also complies to the earth, when we waste meat we are also wasting the materials used to make the meat. Some of the materials are land, water, and human labor. Water gets wasted in the process because it can get contaminated by the manure. 

What would default vegetarian mean to the climate? Less meat waste, less meat waste would mean cutting back on Brookline’s greenhouse emissions.
