Dedicated Police Resources for Downtown Transient Issues

Dedicated Police Resources for Downtown Transient Issues
The Issue
Together let's minimize aggressive transient behaviors in Downtown San Luis Obispo
-we are addressing aggressive/criminal/undesirable behaviors ONLY,
typically related to transient issues
-we support ALL homeless services and organizations and have been
directly involved with Prado Day Center since its inception
-locals, tourists and business owners should feel safe and comfortable
walking around Downtown SLO
It’s time to “change the culture” in Downtown! We need your help to lobby the City Council for real solutions.
The Downtown Association Board of Directors, in response to members’ concerns and requests, has voted to ask that the City Council provide funding for two uniformed police officers assigned and dedicated to the Downtown area seven days a week.
If you agree with this position, please sign the online petition that will be forwarded to the City Council prior to its April 9 budget hearing. You are also encouraged to attend that meeting at 6 PM, 990 Palm Street (City Hall) to show your support of dedicated police presence in Downtown. Call 541-0286 for more info.
Another opportunity to voice your concerns is the Downtown Association’s Strategic Planning Town Hall meeting on Wednesday, April 24, 6 – 8 PM, SLO Museum of Art.
