For far to long this herbal plant and it's cousin hemp have been criticized, mocked, criminalized, labeled as a gateway drug, and destroyed. In my opinion as I'm sure I can speak for many others, marijuana is no more of a gateway drug then prescription medications the children can get their hands on or any other drug for that matter that anyone can get their hands on! It's far safer a choice than alcohol!

The truth that this plant is safer then the food we eat now, safer then alcohol, and safer then a coca-cola drink. This is just the tip of the ice-berg. The government, along with the FDA and DEA have made it their top priority to slander this plant. Make it appear as some evil disease, but the truth is it's an amazing God given plant. Some would say it is a miracle plant, that nature has provided. The earth has provided us with everything we need to survive and live. cigarettes, alcohol, and prescription drugs are the top 3 leading causes for Americans deaths. Yet the government and their allies The pharmaceutical companies have pushed these drugs to the public. Increasing the death rates by hundreds of thousands yearly. while for over hundreds of years this plant has been smoked. Today still no one has confirmed a death related to this herb. It is safe to say that you cannot die from this herb (notice that i say herb) cause that's exactly what it is. While this is just a small amount of information to consider. This herbal medicine from the earth has been curing and aiding so many with mental and physical complications. when the weight of the world is upon you, Anxiety, CPTSD, Bipolar, Cancer, and other worldly problems. I know that people look for away to escape having to think so much, worry about how to take the pain away. Many take on many bad habits that leads to death. such as drinking, smoking cigarettes, and overdosing on pain meds, not to mention the plethora of harmful side effects that come with prescription medications. Why should we the people have to argue with congress and the government that we prefer a safer option when dealing with issues of life. Marijuana is the answer and studies have proven that this plant is medicinal. How many can say that about alcohol, cigarettes, and pain medicine? We the people are petitioning the US government to legalize this plant in each and every state and stop criminalizing it, and harassing us for picking a medicine that actually helps. Why make a war on an herb from earth does not make any sense. Cannabis is a Schedule I drug according to the Controlled Substances Act of 1970, which classified cannabis as having high potential for abuse, no medical use, and not safe to use without medical supervision. The problem with this is that the government failed to tell the people the TRUTH. Lets take a look at some of the facts. According the USPTO ( United states patent office) US Patent# 6630507 titled “Cannabinoids as antioxidants and neuroprotectants” The patent claims that “Cannabinoids have been found to have antioxidant properties, unrelated to NMDA receptor antagonism. This new found property makes cannabinoids useful in the treatment and prophylaxis of wide variety of oxidation associated diseases, such as ischemic, age-related, inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.The cannabinoids are found to have particular application as neuroprotectants, for example in limiting neurological damage following ischemic insults, such as stroke and trauma, or in the treatment of neurodegenerative diseases, such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and HIV dementia.” This is the truth!!!!!They've known this for hundreds of years and have purposely locked away and even killed people for this plant. They didn't see a way to make profit from it so they made laws to criminalize it. When the reality of the situation is that they have secretly been making medicine from this plant and just not telling Americans. Remember the government works for us and not the other way around. People have spoken and stated what we want, they have no choice but to listen. So many people benefit from this, cancer patients, ptsd victims, and all of mankind. Everyone has there reasons for wanting as well as a need for this plant legalized. We have to stop allowing laws to pass that do not help and aid the American people. How many more people are going to die this year related to tobacco? The government allows this to be legal!Too many and that's the argument for the government today. They can legalize this herb in all 50 states. The people have spoken and we demand that our request be granted. Think how many people are behind bars that taxpayers pay for because of the US laws that are outdated and there stigmatized outlook on this plant. It's beyond the age of ignorance. It's time for every single American to fight for our rights and liberty as our forefathers have entitled to us. End marijuana prohibition once and for all. The main statement behind this is that too many people are dying and suffering that don't have to. We have been educated wrongly and lied to for far to long! It's time to help the world! Allow this plant and it's cousin Hemp to help the world. Any government official that does not agree with the facts and wonders of these plants need to be removed from their seats. We are being held back from evolving as mankind and it's only for money. Things need to change and these petitions are steps to a better world.  Petition for the Federal Legalization of Cannabis

Cannabis is not a crime—it is a God-given plant, and even scripture tells us that God said He gave us all that we would need. For decades, the government and pharmaceutical companies have suppressed this truth, profiting while millions of people have suffered needlessly. It is time for the United States to correct this injustice and fully legalize cannabis at the federal level.

Cannabis has been studied for decades, and research has proven again and again what patients and caregivers have known all along: this plant saves lives. It has been shown to reduce seizures in children with epilepsy, calm children with autism, shrink tumors and ease the pain of cancer patients, and steady the tremors of those living with Parkinson’s disease. Families who have watched their loved ones suffer have seen firsthand what cannabis can do when nothing else worked. These are not theories—these are results backed by years of documented studies across the world.

Despite its proven safety and effectiveness, cannabis was criminalized for political and corporate gain. For decades, people—disproportionately people of color—have been jailed, had their futures destroyed, and families torn apart over a plant that has never killed a single person. Meanwhile, alcohol and prescription opioids—both more dangerous and addictive—remain legal and widely marketed. This hypocrisy has cost lives and eroded trust in government.

We reject any attempt to weaken or water down cannabis. Efforts to impose potency limits are nothing more than a continuation of prohibition in disguise. Diluting cannabis strips away the very essence of what makes it effective for medical patients who rely on its strength. The plant should be available as it was intended—natural, whole, and undistorted.

This is not about dependency, weakness, or shame. Cannabis does not make people less; it makes them well. It restores quality of life. It offers relief and healing where pharmaceuticals have failed or caused more harm. It is not a gateway drug—it is a pathway to dignity for countless patients.

The government has lied for generations, while pharmaceutical companies raked in billions selling pills that killed our loved ones. Meanwhile, cannabis sat waiting—safer, cheaper, more effective—while people suffered and died. The truth can no longer be denied.

We demand:

Full federal legalization of cannabis, without artificial restrictions designed to benefit corporations.
Immediate expungement of all nonviolent cannabis convictions, clearing records and freeing those still imprisoned for something that should never have been a crime.
Access for all patients who need cannabis, with protections ensuring affordability and availability.
Protection of potency, recognizing that medical effectiveness depends on cannabis being available in its natural, unweakened form.

The United States has the opportunity to finally move forward, to undo decades of injustice and to lead by example. Cannabis is medicine. Cannabis is freedom. Cannabis is a God-given plant, and it is time we stop punishing people for using it.
