After a discussion with the Director of Operations at Resident Life, the land that West Wood Community is on is being leased out so that third-party contractors could build the dorms. The implications of this mean that West Wood dorms are "mixed-use" buildings, regulating them to specific AC temperatures. The codes limit AC to 74 +/- 2 degrees, way too hot for most students and at times dangerous. Currently, Resident Life, Building Operations, and Business Affairs offices are working together to make the West Wood Community exempt from these building codes. 

This petition serves as a demonstration of student dissatisfaction, allowing the standstill these university offices are at to cease.
