The Issue

This is a National Emergency and the Government of India must start acting like it.

Sexual violence against women in India is not sporadic or isolated. It is systemic, routine, and ongoing. Every day, women across the country face assault, coercion, and violence — while accountability remains the exception, not the rule.

What the public sees is only a fraction of the reality.
Experts and multiple studies suggest that 70–85% of sexual violence in India goes unreported, silenced by fear, shame, social pressure, retaliation, and institutional apathy. The cases that make headlines are not the norm- they are the exception.

The real scale of this crisis exists in silence.

Despite this, perpetrators of sexual violence continue to receive routine bail, parole, delayed trials, and diluted sentences. This sends a dangerous message: crimes against women are negotiable.

This is no longer just a law-and-order issue. It is a failure of governance, justice, and moral responsibility.

We demand immediate action:

  • Strict limits on bail and parole for those accused and convicted of sexual violence
  • Fast-track courts to prevent endless delays
  • Stronger sentencing frameworks that reflect the gravity of these crimes
Institutional accountability for negligence and cover-ups

Women in India do not need sympathy.

They need safety, justice, and urgency.

This petition calls on the Government of India, the judiciary, and all institutions of power to acknowledge this crisis and act decisively- NOW

The cost of delay is measured in lives.
