Declare Pakali Jayanti a national holiday in India

The Issue

India is a land of festivals, reflection, philosophy, devotion, and occasional glorious absurdity. It is therefore only fitting that we recognise Pakali Jayanti, observed on April 15, as a national holiday in honour of Pakaleshwar. If not a national holiday, we'd settle for a holiday in Mangalore, India. Kids need more holidays anyways.

Numerous communities (just r/pakali for now, with 20 members spread) across the nation mark this day with fervor and devotion, organizing events, physics seminars, Recognizing Pakali Jayanti as a national holiday will provide the recognition it deserves and allow citizens from all walks of life to come together and reflect.

By officially declaring this day as a national holiday, we can ensure that his teachings remain alive and continue to inspire us to build a more equitable and just society. It will also empower educational institutions and organizations to include his philosophies in their curricula and activities, thereby strengthening our cultural roots.

Join us in appealing to the Government of India to honor the legacy of Pakaleshwar by declaring April 15 as a national holiday. Together, let's ensure that the stories of those who have selflessly served our nation are never forgotten. Sign this petition to make a hopefully.. meaningful change.
