It's imperative we apply this approach here and now for cold weather as well.

Canadian research indicates that over 100 people die annually from cold-related conditions. Protecting citizens by implementing a DLD day would not only show care for public health but would also be a proactive step in preventing unnecessary morbidity and mortality during cold snaps.
