As a devout believer in the power of prayer and unity in Christ Jesus, I am initiating this petition to request all churches in the United Kingdom and their leadership across all denominations to declare Sunday, 26th May 2024, and every subsequent year as "The UK National Day of Prayer". This day will be dedicated to praying for the blessings of our great nation, the United Kingdom. 

Prayer is not just a religious act; it's a universal language that unites us all. It has been scientifically proven that prayer can bring about positive changes in individuals and communities (Koenig HG et al., Handbook of Religion and Health). By dedicating an entire day to collective prayer, we can foster unity among different denominations while simultaneously seeking divine intervention for our country's prosperity.

This initiative is not just about one denomination or one church; it's about bringing together every Christian in the UK under one roof with a common goal - praying for our nation. The importance of this cannot be overstated at a time when we are facing numerous challenges both domestically and internationally.

Let us unite on this day annually to pray for peace, prosperity, health, equality, justice - everything that makes our United Kingdom great. Let us remind ourselves each year about the power of prayer through "The UK National Day of Prayer".
