When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political divide which have disconnected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of humankind requires that they should DECLARE the causes which impel them to UNITY.

I declare that I am tired of the hatred, the anger, the fear, the chaos, and the violence between our 2 political parties. I’m tired of going to war with my brothers, my sisters, my colleagues, my neighbors and my friends. I’m tired of Social Media and traditional media telling us how different we are and feeding off our perceived differences, separating us farther and farther apart.

I declare my commitment to listen, be curious and empathize with those I may disagree with and to find common ground among my brethren, no matter what political side they are on. I declare that we can agree to disagree respectfully and I declare that we are more alike than we are different. I COMMIT TO THE FIGHT FOR UNITY!

And I challenge you, the Congress of the UNITED States of America, as our elected representatives to do all that you can to work across the aisle to create SOLUTIONS that for the betterment of our country. It's time to BRIDGE THE GAP!
