The Issue

Terrorism, according to the Oxford Dictionary, is defined as the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims (Oxford Languages, n.d.).

As recent events continue to unfold, The Trump Administration has repeatedly demonstrated a willingness to place the wellbeing of American citizens secondary to political consolidation as he ingratiates himself and fellow billionaires in a plot to divide the country and expand his authoritarian power. Through the selective invocation of emergency powers, the expansion of coercive state force, and the deliberate targeting of venerable populations, this administration has engaged in conduct that meets the functional criteria of terrorism as defined above. This conclusion does not rest on isolated incidents, but on a sustained pattern of intimidation, violence, and coercion directed at civilian populations in pursuit of political aims.

Throughout the years, Donald Trump has been proven time and again to have lied and cheated as a means to make his fortune. After the 2016 election, he continued these behaviors, accumulating more than 33,000 lies he told to the American people. After the 2024 election, every decision he has made as president either made more money for him and his family, attacked anyone he saw as "not worthy of the American dream", or alienating or allies so as to weaken our bonds to reduce our defensive capabilities.

Attacks on marginalized people:

Donald Trump's famous phrase, "They're eating the cats, they're eating the dogs", was a direct, incorrect, and fear mongering tactic he used to garner hate toward Haitian refugees who were merely escaping injustices, insecurities, and gang violence in their own country. They sought refuge in America for the safety of themselves and their families. They found it all the while adding economic wealth to the communities they lived in. Little did they know, they would face a similar threat in the hands of their saving grace.

During his last campaign, Donald Trump spent over $200 million on antiTrans political advertisements. Trump also rallied against Trangender individuals with a focus on "men in women's sports" because of a percieved threat of inequality. These speeches lead to attacks, both physical and verbal, towards people who caused no harm towards anyone.

Donald Trump promised mass deportations this last election cycle. He vowed to rid America of criminals from overseas. He ramped up spending on Immigration and Customs Enforcement. He has more than double its size. With all this spending, he has little to show for it in comparison with past administrations. With its numbers increasing so too have we seen an escalation in its violence. There have been attacks and instances of brutality against immigrants and citizens alike, with many citizens being detained despite showing proof of citizenship. Some citizens have even reported that their documentation was declared as fake by ICE.

Illegal attacks on foreign citizens:

Since Sept 2nd, more than two dozen boats have been attacked and destroyed by the US Navy resulting in more than 100 deaths under the narrative of them being part of narcoterrorism. These attacks, under international and maritime law, are illegal. In fact, the Department of Defense has its own guidelines that state we must express professionalism and follow international law.

With aggressions increasing in the region, the US has seized two oil tankers and attempted to capture one more. Donald Trump has said that the largest naval armada in the region has been assembled. It was done in an effort to, according to him, reclaim stolen land and resources.

Unjustified deployment of National Guard on US soil:

According to Posse Comitatus, US military cannot act as law enforcement. Donald Trump has overseen that National Guard units have been deployed to several large US cities in an effort to curtail crime. In some instances, crime was already trending downward. These deployments are in violation of the 10th Amendment as ruled by the courts and are nothing but a waste of federal taxpayer money.

Overall, the actions herein described, combined, lead to one logical conclusion that the Trump Administration is a terrorist organization.
