PETS ARE DYING WHILE FLYING CARGO, A SAFE PLACE INSIDE CABIN NEEDS TO BE CREATED!!!!

Airlines only allow dogs under 20 lbs to fly in cabin because they have to fit in a carrier under the seat, all other dogs must fly in the cargo area and that results in many pets dying because of unregulated temperature and stress. This is especially troublesome for owners of Brachycephalic breeds whose dogs exceed the required weight to travel in cabin yet cannot travel in cargo. Many owners choose to drive or not travel at all but there are times in life when the circumstances dictate you must fly, as when moving overseas or in a family emergency. At those times, desperate pet owners often try to pass their dogs as ESA or Service dogs due to a lack of choices. This is ethically wrong and endangers the well being of passengers and legitimate Service dogs.

We are asking  that a safe space be provided inside the cabin in designated flights for dogs who exceed the size requirement to travel in a carrier that fits under the seat. Some suggestions would be removing the last row of seats and installing crates or removing two seats from the last row, installing a crate and allowing the owner to sit in the remainder seat, but there could be other options as designating flights exclusively for pets to fly with their owners. Japan is already doing this very successfully.

Too many dogs die every year traveling in unsafe areas and it is time to stop this by implementing changes that will allow our pets to travel safely. Many pet owners are willing to pay extra to ensure the safety of our pets who we consider part of our family.
