Safety is obviously our number one priority. The graduation will have to be postponed until the first phase of the President's reopening plan can be practiced in Jackson County, but that will not decrease the momentum that our class has built for 12 years to walk the stage. The Class of 2020 wants to graduate together, it doesn't matter how late. Instead of hosting the graduation at the coliseum, we can celebrate right in Ocean Springs at the stadium we all know and love. We will sadly have to have a limited number of guests per student and will follow the White House's protocol that will be released for large venues. With the change to outdoors, the sunlight has always been known to boost immunity and the open air will help control the spread of the virus. Sadly, older family members are encouraged to stay home, but to compensate for this, videos that are typically sold can be purchased so grandparents can watch it safely. Additionally, masks should be encouraged to further prevent spread. This plan is just an idea for something that could be possible. I have spoken to many classmates and everyone is ecstatic that there is hope for something like this. We simply cannot imagine not being able to graduate surrounded by our friends and family and believe that this plan has the potential to be safe and memorable. Thank you for all of your support!
