Hi Everyone,
Thank you for supporting this petition.
On Monday, June 28, For Elk founder Diana Oppenheim will deliver this petition along with petitions from Renewal Resource Institute and Turtle Island Restoration Network, to Secretary of the Interior Deb Haaland's office in Washington DC. In total, over 100,000 petition signers urge Sec. Haaland to protect Point Reyes National Seashore's Tule elk.
We'll be live streaming this meeting on our @forelk Facebook page and we invite you to tune in! Monday, June 28th 10:00 AM PST / 1:00 PM EST.

As many of you know, the National Park Service is set to sign their formal “Record of Decision” for Point Reyes National Seashore (PRNS) on July 14. Once signed, park rangers will begin lethal population control by killing Tule Elk to make way for cows.
Sec. Haaland has the power to halt this plan, reversing the unnecessary death sentence of California's native elk. We've made numerous attempts with her staff to request a meeting with her before that date, but they have not responded.
Now, Diana is traveling to Washington DC in order to give Sec. Haaland our petitions in person. Sec. Haaland may refuse to see Diana. Diana may be turned away at the office door. But it's worth taking a shot at an in person meeting if it could convince Sec. Haaland to stop the signing of this horrific plan.
Thank you again for your support.
We hope to update you with good news.
Until then, please stay tuned and share this with your friends and network!
