The accused, Easton Vance ,is unfortunately my nephew. But blood doesn't remove the stains from the heinous crimes he committed. I refuse to stay silent against such atrocious acts. 

I'm requesting  Sullivan County TN  District Attorney’s Office to apply the death penalty in this case . My objective is clear and pressing: Easton Vance must face the full weight of justice for the abhorrent crimes committed against 15-month-old Elliot. 

This case is not just another statistic in the realm of criminal justice; it is the very real and tragic narrative of a young life lost. Elliot was not just a 15-month-old child; he was a symbol of innocence and hope, brutally taken away from his family in the most violent manner possible. Easton stands accused of the Aggravated Rape of a Child, First-Degree murder, and Aggravated Child Abuse/Neglect /Endangerment. These charges reflect the nature of his actions, which are not only appalling but are crimes that scream for the most serious consequences under the law.

Unfortunately, Easton’s criminal path is plagued by violent recidivism, showing a pattern of behavior that only escalated to this abhorrent climax. It's crucial that this pattern is halted—if not for justice today, then for the prevention of future tragedies. It is cases like these that reveal the true voids in our system, where offenders can slip through the cracks only to commit even more egregious crimes. His past should weigh heavily on the decision towards seeking the death penalty, as it demonstrates a relentless inclination towards violence.

We urge the Prosecution, backed by the weight of the law, to seek the death penalty against Easton Vance. This is not a decision made lightly, as I fully comprehend the gravity of this request. However, the magnitude of his crimes, compounded by his history, must compel the justice system to act decisively. No family should endure the pain of losing a young one to such horrific acts, and no child should suffer the fate that befell Elliot.

Through this petition, we not only seek justice for Elliot but we also aim to send a strong message—that society will not accept, nor will it tolerate, such inhumanity. We stand firm in our resolve, united in trauma, and unwavering in our pursuit of justice.
