Dear UPSC, either stick to the syllabus or rename CSAT as CAT
The Issue
Dear UPSC, CSAT (Paper 2) of Prelims 2023 is way too lengthy, difficult, and so unconventional. There should be a humane limit to difficulty. Such paper will discourage the new aspirant coming for UPSC preparation.
Is UPSC non-inclusive?
The increasing difficulty level of CSAT paper does not bode well for students from non-technical backgrounds.
Already the share of non-engineering students in UPSC is reaching all time low (just 1/3rd in 2022) and in such scenario, making CSAT tougher, will be beneficial majorly to students from engineering backgrounds.
The diversity in the services will be lost. And equality.
