Drew Dixon for President of Def Jam Records

Drew Dixon for President of Def Jam Records
The Issue
We the people,
Have collectively and unanimously nominated Drew Dixon for President of Def Jam Records, a subsidiary of Universal Music Group. Drew Dixon has previously held an executive title at the aforementioned record company, as well as the now defunct Arista Records, a former subsidiary of Sony Music.
During her time as Director of A&R and later President of A&R at these companies, she produced multi-platinum and Grammy award winning music, proving to be immensely instrumental to the Black music culture. As well as a trailblazer for Black women in the music industry.
Drew Dixon unfortunately departed from the music business at the height of her career, due to the duress caused by powerful men she worked for. Ms. Dixon began to be stonewalled in the workplace in retaliation of refusing sexual advances.
Drew left behind what many considered to be a very bright future. This resulted in her being prevented from signing artists we know today such as Kanye West, John Legend and more.
Additionally, Ms. Dixon has been an advocate for sexual assault survivors since stepping away from the music business.
We ask that Universal Music Group, Lucian Grainge and Def Jam extend the invitation for Drew Dixon to accept (on her own accord) the position of President or CEO of Def Jam, as reports have indicated the role has not been permanently filled.
We ask that you sign and share this petition on social media, as this petition will be presented directly to those in power at Universal Music Group and Def Jam Records.
Note: This petition is only a show of support of the above stated facts and subject to change should Ms. Dixon not want to participate or decline the position.
Thank you,
