Dear Friends, A quick update: An article titled "Gerrie Nel advised to appeal Oscar Pistorius decision" dated 24 October 2014 at 11:24 appeared on the City Press website (www.citypress.co.za). The article states that WITS law professor James Grant wrote on Twitter: " I can confirm that Advocate Nel has consulted me for advice and assistance if he appeals. I have advised that he should appeal and agreed to assist". The article further states that the NPA will make a decision within 14 days from judgement. Let us continue to circulate our Campaign link to our contacts as we strive to gather the remaining 19 signatures to further assist the NPA in its decision on whether to appeal or not. We strongly believe that the State has sufficient grounds to appeal the Masipa ruling and should do so without hesitation.
