From the very beginning of Anthony Lynn's tenure with the Chargers it has been clear that he is in over his head. From the very first home game, season ticket holders and loyal fans watching at home have seen his inept play calling, clock management, and game management. He has consistently failed to properly prepare his teams for games. He wasted some of the last hall of fame years of Philip Rivers and Antonio Gates.

From his first season until now Lynn insists on running the ball in an almost predictable fashion. Over the last few years the Chargers made the playoff once, in spite of Anthony Lynn. During that season the defense overachieved. On closer examination, most of the games were won by one score and the team easily could have been 7-9. Losing close games, many during the last seconds or by blowing a huge lead, have become calling card of Lynn.

Over the last 2 seasons he has lost a staggering 15 games by 1 score, often blowing large first half leads. When things have gone bad he has shifted blame to and been disrespectful to Justin Herbert as well as shifting blame to his coaching staff. At one point demoting his Special Teams coordinator and being disrespectful to his defensive coordinator stating he might have to personally get involved. Most embarrassing of all, during the last two weeks the commentators have openly mocked and questioned his decisions during the live broadcasts. To make matters worse, after losing to the Patriots, Lynn lied to the press making up some fanciful story about why Justin Herbert remained in the game when they were down over 30 points in the 4th quarter.

While the playoffs or a winning season are out of the question at this point, the fan base deserves the moral victory of ending Lynn's term as head coach, immediately. The Chargers already have an uphill battle to gain a fan base in Los Angeles, the longer the team retains Lynn, the more disheartened and disconnected the fan base that already exists becomes.
