Install a gender-neutral bathroom in the Black Cultural Center (BCC)

The Issue

The Black Cultural Center, resurrected in 1984, stands as one of Vanderbilt's most significant cultural centers. But, the BCC is the only cultural house on our campus not to own a gender-neutral bathroom. Students who are gender-nonconforming that frequently use the BCC must relocate to another building just to use the bathroom. The lack of a gender-neutral bathroom runs at counterpoint to our University's fight for diversity and inclusion. It signals that our campus' most influential black space is not interested in everybody's comfortability in the space. Time is up for us to keep complaining about a problem we can reasonably fix. Sign this petition if you support installing a gender-neutral bathroom in the BCC.
