No Confidence in Dean Joseph Harroz Re: Forced Resignation of Brian McCall

The Issue

Preparing tomorrow’s leaders involves teaching them how to cooperate, listen carefully, think critically, and to resolve conflicts through reason.  Dean Harroz has, to the contrary, given his faculty and students the false impression that they can insulate themselves from those who hold different views, and far from leading, he has set the example for mob-rule.

We may not agree with any or all of Brian McCall’s personal views.  The forced resignation, however, of Brian McCall for nothing other than an unpopular though sincerely held religious belief, especially given McCall’s laudable record during his twelve-year tenure at the OU School of Law, is an injustice and displays a lack of leadership ability on the part of Dean Joseph Harroz.
