Reintroduce "Labor, The Environment & Climate Change" to ILR's 2015-16 curriculum.

Nations are experiencing the effects of climate change today. Water scarcity and crop instability are daily realities for populations in the American Southwest and nations around the globe right now.

As communities and businesses seek to mitigate risk, adapt to change, and contribute toward building a just future, corporate social responsibility programs and municipal sustainable development initiatives are becoming more mainstream and in demand.

Whether we (re)enter the world of work as managers, labor leaders or social changers, it is important that ILR (and other) students graduate from Cornell University with a deeper understanding of how our economies, governments and natural environments are woven together. Studying how to address the implications of this is a crucial piece in our educational foundation.

ILRIC4313 / ILRIC6013 - Labor, the Environment and Climate Change promised to fulfill these needs. Unfortunately, it has been discontinued for budgetary reasons, and there is no comparable replacement.

Please join me in asking Dean Kevin Hallock to reintroduce the course into ILR's curriculum for the 2015-16 academic year. Show your support by adding your name, netID, college, year and why reintroducing this course is important to you.
