We, the undersigned, call upon the University of Hawai'i to rename Dean Hall at UH Manoa to Ball Hall after Alice Ball.

Alice Augusta Ball was an American chemist who developed the "Ball Method" a highly affect treatment for leprosy. She found this treatment via the chaulmoogra tree that is still on campus till this day. In 1915 she was the first Black Women and first Women to graduate with a master's degree from UH Manoa (formally College of Hawaii.) This name change is long overdue, her work was stolen and wrongfully used which led to President Dean getting a hall named after him. Please join us in this movement!
