To the College's administrative staff and to those involved in the faculty dismissal process,

Associate Professor Will Pritchard's repeated behavior in his 3 classes – Words 120, ENG 205 and 313 – have created a harmful environment for his students, perpetuating the cycle of racism and rape culture, while also offending the trans community. The reaffirmation of his stances on these topics over the semester and years, highlighting his response to a Piolog article solidifying his attitudes toward excusing blackface, requires his dismissal by 2 causes described by the faculty handbook: 

1. Seriously inadequate performance on the part of a faculty member in the discharge of his or her professional duties.

5. Repeated or egregious violation of duly adopted policies of the College or the school in which the faculty member is employed.

The students of Lewis & Clark do not stand for what Professor Pritchard has put forth in his classroom.

The signatures below reflect student solidarity who have experienced similar instances of Pritchard’s inappropriate behaviors, or who are against what harmful messages Pritchard has stood by in his classes, who are in support of the consideration for his dismissal.
