Don’t destroy the land that Emily du Pont donated to benefit the welfare of Delaware’s animals. The Delaware SPCA Stanton shelter is a state-of-the-art facility with a proven record of providing exceptional care to animals and serving the community for more than 140 years. It holds a unique place in Delaware’s history, and the community relies on its spay/neuter, wellness and vaccine clinics, food pantry and, of course, adoptions. It’s also home to the state’s largest pet cemetery, the final resting place for thousands of our community’s beloved pets. We urge the Board of Directors to keep the facility open and not sell the land. We ask that the volunteers, staff and public be included in developing a sustainable strategic plan. With new leadership and a wise path forward, the Delaware SPCA can continue its valuable services -- in Stanton and in Georgetown.  Support having the Board of Directors reverse its decision today – allowing the Stanton shelter to stay!
