Petition updateRemove Amber Heard from Aquaman 2Efforts to have Heard removed from AM2 carried no water

So says producer Peter Safran when asked whether or not the social media campaign by Johnny Depp fans for Amber Heard’s removal from the DC sequel ever had any influence on the production and their casting decisions.

“I don’t think we’re ever going to react to, honestly, pure fan pressure,” said Safran. “You gotta do what’s best for the movie.”

If Safran and the AM2 franchise had any idea what was best for the movie, they would dump a known domestic abuser the instant audio came out with Heard admitting in her own words to abusing Johnny Depp. Any man would have been canned on the spot. Anybody else would have been fired. Period. Yet here’s Amber Heard, acting like she’s bulletproof, with support from inside the industry.

What a travesty.

But what’s funny is that Safran neglects to mention the petition to remove Amber Heard from AM2 petition, which carries almost 2 million signatures from consumers who promise to boycott the movie if she’s in it. And, despite efforts to silence the petition, more and more people sign it every day.

Likewise, the apparent inclusion of Heard in AM2 has re-ignited the #JusticeForJohnnyDepp crew on Twitter again. There’s a whole world of people out here that don’t want to see Amber Heard in AM2, and it’s not just rabid Johnny Depp fans, as the slanted media would have you believe. A great many people opposing Amber Heard are survivors of domestic abuse who are outraged that Johnny Depp, the victim of domestic abuse, is still being treated like a pariah while his abuser continues to work in films.

In fact, a great many of them really didn’t care for Johnny Depp one way or another, but were outraged that there’s such a biased double standard when it comes to male victims of domestic abuse, and that Depp continues to face false allegations of domestic abuse when he is, in fact, the victim.

Like the front page of this petition says, men are victims of domestic abuse, just like women. This must be recognized, and action must be taken to prevent a known abuser from being celebrated within the entertainment industry.

At this time, it appears that Amber Heard is, indeed, involved with AM2. But we don’t know in what capacity, or to what extent. She could be the costar from start to finish, or she could be cast in just a few scenes that could easily be reshot after some judicial decisions are made about her. After all, Johnny Depp was removed from FB3 after filming already started. The same thing could happen to Heard after court happens.

Let’s not forget, after all, that she’s not just facing Johnny Depp in court for Defamation. She’s also being investigated by the FBI, and it Australia for perjury.

Her legal woes aren’t “just” civil. They’re also criminal.

So she and her cohorts can pooh-pooh the internet and the millions of people out here in the real world that are rallying against her, but her world might not be all roses and sunshine like she makes it out to be. There could be serious legal and financial ramifications that she’ll have to face, not the least of which is a massive flop when those millions of people boycott AM2.

We’ll have to wait and see what becomes of AM2, Heard’s legal issues, and her career. But I, for one, don’t see a thriving future for her in Hollywood moving forward. She got the AM franchise when she was married to Johnny Depp, sure. But her dance card isn’t looking too good otherwise. There are no new projects listed for her on her IMDB page, and the rumor mill isn’t churning out anything of merit.

Heard might be mugging for selfies now, but I’m pretty sure she’ll be laughing out the other side of her face when the dust settles.

Time will tell.

What do you think? Is she getting away with it footloose and fancy-free? Or is the end about to catch up with her? Drop by Twitter and let us know what you think.
