As of a few days ago, rumor from a trusted source has it that Amber Heard will, indeed, be appearing in Aquaman 2. This information has struck a lot of Johnny Depp supporters hard, because it seems like she can get away with whatever she wants and keep getting roles in blockbuster films.

But there's more to the story.

For one thing, there are millions of people bombarding @WBPictures on Twitter with their disdain for this decision. Amber Heard seems to get away with being this massive abuser and doesn't get fired, while Johnny Depp, who is overwhelmingly innnocent, gets canned from two major franchises. The Travesty! These millions promise to #BoycottAquaman2 and there are whispers of demonstrations at both the filming locations and the movie's premiers in assorted countries.

So things don't look so hot for WB for hiring Amber Heard back after reportedly buying out her contract so that she wouldn't be in it.

Plus, there are still legal woes plaguing Amber Heard. And, no. I don't just mean the defamation case brought against her buy Johnny Depp, which is set to begin in April of 2022.

Nope. I'm talking about Amber Heard reportedly being investigated by the Australian government for perjury in association with smuggling two dogs into Australia contrary to Oz's biosecurity laws.

That's nothing new, I know. It's been going around for years that they're looking at her for that, seemingly with no end in sight.

What's new is a claim by a Youbuter named That Umbrella Guy that the FBI has been contacted to assist with the investigation. If that's true, it puts things in a whole different light. The penalty for perjury in Australia could land Heard as many as 14 years in jail, hefty fines, and possibly being banned from Australia for a number of years.

While it's disturbingly unlikely that Heard will do any jail time (though many of her detractors hope she will), being banned from the country could affect filming schedules from any movie being produced there.

Including Aquaman 2.

It's been said by cast and crew that AM2 will begin filming in London in June, 2021, but that's likely for the indoor scenes. It's very possible that the outside scenes will be filmed in Australia, like they were for AM1.

If that's the case, Heard would not be able to film in Australia. Granted, there may be legal loopholes they can jump through to make it possible, since the film is a preexisting project, or some such, but it presents an ever-growing headache for any studio that considers working with her in the future. Time will have to tell that tale.

Regardless, whatever happens in court, and in Australia, Johnny Depp's popularity and productivity continue to soar, while Heard's public opinion seems to be waning.

Will Heard be able to repair her public image? A LOT of people, myself included, doubt it sincerely, but we'll have to wait and see what happens.

What do you think? Is Heard washed up? Or will she rally? Drop by Twitter and let us know.
