Wonder Woman is an iconic comic book hero. She symbolizes wisdom, peace, strength and beauty and is the modern embodiment of classic Greek literature. Diana, the warrior and an ambassador of peace is the perfect character for film.

We want our comic book movies to represent women in a leading role. Our children need a symbol of womanhood that can embody beauty and strength, one in which the female is not a secondary team player but a movie where she is THE character.

As a teacher, I use comics in my classroom. I tell my students that my favorite character is Wonder Woman. The boys always find it perplexing that I chose a female over a male hero, and the girls are always excited. It's time we had a female protagonist that anyone can relate to and enjoy. Our children need a strong female character to idolize.
