Culling Expanding To All Of England

World Animal Rescue
2 Mar 2018
After 5 years and the death of 34,000 badgers, the bTB outbreak is still ongoing. Despite the culling clearly not working, the government is planning on expended the culling. For the first time, parts of North and East England will be allowed to cull their badger population. If this new plan comes to past, it won't be long before the badger culling expands to the whole of England. Currently, badger culling is restricted to certain zones but if the expansion passes, the death toll of the Badgers will triple. A secondary part of the expansion involves removing hunting limits and the number of badgers that can be culled at one time. This expansion will also allow low-risk areas to cull badgers. If this expansion comes to pass, over 70% of the badger population can be wiped out. The Badgers will become extinct in parts of the country that already has a low population. Instead of moving on to strategies that work (vaccination & improved testing) the government is doubling down on a method that has made little to no progress. In fact, studies show that shooting the badgers actually increases the spread of bTB. Please sign and share, we can save the badgers before it is too late. If the expansion passes there will be no badgers left for future generations. If the expansion passes, the government will wipe out an entire species. Thank You
