Over 20,000 Badgers Culled

Lasy year the government voted to expand the culling area of the badgers. 11 New Cull Zones were added. This had lead to over 20,000 badgers being killed in a free for all shooting spree. When all is said and done, the government has spent over 50 million in taxpayer money with nothing to show for it but dead badgers. It's hardly surprising since badgers are shot indiscriminately. A majority of the dead badgers tested negative for TB yet the cull is still being trotted as a success. To make matters worse, the government instilled a minimum cull number of 5,175 badgers. The culling is both inhumane and ineffective. Vaccinating the badgers is not only cheaper but it is also more effective. Data shows that it only cost £82 per vaccination as opposed to the culling cost of £4,459,000. There are so many more progressive ways to spend the money such as improved testing for TB, vaccine research, and improved sanitary conditions for cattle.
