Recently schools in the Antelope Valley School District have been enforcing dress code harder than they enforce the mask mandate in school. Specifically Quartz Hill Highschool. Girls are stopped before they even step foot onto campus. We aren’t even allowed to enter through the gates without our bodies being sexualized by security and admin. Our shoulders and belly buttons aren’t the problem. Their outdated and sexist way of thinking is. The fact that they care more about belly buttons being exposed than girls getting their education is sickening. Teen girls wearing shorts and tank tops in 100+ degree weather is expected and we should not be punished for wanting to be comfortable. 
 We are yelled at and humiliated in front of our peers for showing a little bit of cleavage. It’s a high school we are going to have breasts. And we can’t remove them just because they make admin and security uncomfortable. 
 On the third day of school I was stopped outside the gates after being dropped off by my mother. I hopped out of the car and started making my way to the gate. One of the administrators watched me get out my car and stared at me until I got close enough for him to call me out. He said and I quote “You will not come back here dressed like this again.” He went on and on about how “inappropriate” my outfit was. He told me that I had to zip up my sweater before entering the campus. So I would be denied my education because I had the audacity to have breasts? 
   They never stop people from walking into campus without masks even though 10% of the school’s population was quarantined the 1st week of school. They can walk onto campus maskless but God forbid I walk onto campus with my collar bones showing.
