Say NO to End of Life Choice Bill

The issue

The End of Life Choice bill is an act that will legalise euthanasia on humans throughout New Zealand, however, there are too many ways to exploit this bill which will result in unnecessary death. David Seymour, NZ MP, has put forward this bill in hopes that it will be approved by parliament. Life should be treasured by not only our society but also by our government. Accepting euthanasia accepts that some lives are worth less than others. This is wrong and helps structure an apathetic society.

Reasons to sign this petition:

  • Euthanasia weakens societies respect for the sanctity of life
  • Voluntary euthanasia is the start of the slippery slope that leads to involuntary euthanasia and the killing of people who are thought undesirable
  • Allowing euthanasia will lead to lower healthcare standards for the sick. Allowing euthanasia may discourage the search for new cures and treatments for the terminally ill.
  • The bill does not specify the technicalities of the bill properly leaving open grounds for exploitation
  • Exposes the vulnerable (mentally ill, handicapped etc.) to pressure to end their lives
  • It is used to cut healthcare costs which is against New Zealand's image of empathy and compassion
Euthanasia continues to undermine our respect towards life and chips away at our compassion towards those in need. The legalization of euthanasia will cause a chain reaction effect for other countries around the world to follow New Zealand's footsteps. This overtime can will cause people to further lower their respect towards the sanctity of life which results in a less compassionate society overall. Insurance companies do and will exploit this bill in attempts to avoid paying for vital treatments like chemotherapy. Will you help us raise awareness for the vile ethics of this bill?
