What is happening to our sharks

Worldwide fisher men and fisher women are snaring sharks, removing there fins then throwing them back into the ocean for them to sink and slowly bleed to their death. All of this just for a soup. Meanwhile illegal distributors are selling the shark’s fins and teeth without a license, which I may point out for you is illegal trading.

Why we need to protect our sharks

Fewer sharks means less healthy coral and less fish, and this threatens the food security, tourism, and the ability of coral reefs to buffer the impacts of major storm events. We depend on sharks in many more ways than we think
