The DNR will not stop the Clear Cutting. This petition was started 5 years ago and they have continued the Clear Cutting this entire time devastating and entire ecosystem.  Not long ago this area was teeming with deer, black beer and even moose and now there is nothing left except small critters which are mostly eaten by the coyotes and what little large game left is devoured by the ever growing population of wolves. There is no replanting program nor even the thought of it.  The loggers are able to leave behind  what ever the don't want such as and downed saplings, broken trees etc. making the once upon a time forest into nothing more than a waste land.  Animal trails and paths that are now completely gone making any access to the area all but impossible. Roads are rutted and not repaired and during the winter months are snow blown and covered to the point that they cannot even be plowed because there are no trees to break the blowing winds and drifting snow.  This is appalling to me as I always thought Michigan's UP was the one of the most pristine and beautiful forested areas in the country and now the DNR is managing it into an arm pit.  Clear cutting is not MANAGING!  Stupid people are in charge and this needs to be changed, there is little forest left in this area and by time they finish there will be none.
