For the last several years our American Forests have been devastated by several factors. The  #1 reason is bad forest management, whereas public agencies are managing the forests as a crop and the most important thing to them at the end of the day is how much money did they make by selling American Forest/wood. The #2 reason of forest devastation are fires many caused and/or exaserbated by poor logging regulations set forth to increase government agencies profitability. By poor regulations logging companies which are awarded State contact's are allowed to leave tangled slashings which create an extreme fire hazard. Slashings are not only horribly ugly to the eye also make the land virtually unusable and impassible for recreational purposes. These slashings dry and and are just waiting for a source of ignition such as, lightening, spark from a unsupervised camp fire, tossed cigarette butts and even arsonists. As we will not be able to stop cutting forests and management must occur to stop beetle infestation, remove dead areas of forests etc.. however Clear Cutting is not the answer.

This is not a petition against loggers, it's a petition for policy change and if loggers need be paid more for a better job and the Public agencies make less profit so be it!

The only way to fight clear Cutting  and demand reasonable Cleanup after cutting is through policy changes and the only way to get that done is through political pressure and in the court of law.

NOT ASKING FOR A LOT, JUST BE REASONABLE!
