Include Josie Packard (Joan Chen) in Twin Peaks reboot
The Issue
The original Twin Peaks series featured Chinese-American actress Joan Chen as Josie Packard. The series is being continued in 2017 on Showtime, and she is currently not set to reprise her role in David Lynch's and Mark Frost's revival.
An article by The Hollywood Reporter describes Chen's character as the unassuming Packard Sawmill owner who was involved in her own share of deadly secrets, crossing paths with characters like her secret lover, Harry S. Truman (Michael Ontkean), and her chief business rival, Catherine Martell (Piper Laurie).
Chen reportedly wished to be written out of the series to pursue other projects and got her wish. Josie suddenly passes away midway through season two following a standoff with Agent Cooper (Kyle MacLachlan). But death is not the end for the Josie, as her soul becomes trapped inside of a desk drawer knob in the Great Northern hotel. It's still not exactly clear what happened to her, or why the last image of her is as a screaming piece of furniture.
Countless fans worldwide are hoping for Chen to bust out of the drawer, and we are petitioning to make her return a reality.
Chen wrote a letter to The Hollywood Reporter in the style of Josie Packard, found at this link.
