Adapt “Nova’s Ark” by David Kirk into an animated feature

The Issue

If you’re a 90s kid like me, or was simply introduced to the book at some point in early life, you will know that David Kirk’s second most famous creation Nova the Robot, deserves to receive the same treatment as Miss Spider when she received a television series and animated short based on the first Little Miss Spider book. David has attempted to adapt his book into a film before during it’s creation, but an executive change at Universal Studios but a stop to that. As an aspiring filmmaker, I would love to see this book and it’s spin-offs be adapted into a full length feature film, a computer animated one, since the book’s illustrations are CGI, thanks to the work of Engineering Animation Inc.

The story tells us of a robot boy named Nova who lives with his mother Luna and dog Sparky. His dad Taspett is away searching the galaxies for energy, as their home planet Roton appears to be running low. During a class field trip, Nova is rocketed away on a Glax Cruiser and he crash lands on a lost moon. While waiting to be rescued, Nova builds animals out of his wrecked cruiser...and in case you’ve read the book, you’ll accurately guess as to what happens next.

Anyway, I would love to see this man’s dream come true. If you want more inquiries, just ask the author David Kirk on Facebook or Nicholas Callaway at Callaway Arts and Entertainment, now Callaway Books or just Callaway in general.
