We are extremely grateful to members of the law enforcement and justice community for the arrest of and charge against Jeanne Ryan of Goshen, NY for animal cruelty.

Complaints about her treatment of animals are not new - the bodies found on her property indicate that she has likely been starving horses for some time.

Ms. Ryan is a former police officer, and as such knows the justice system quite well. We know that this case will be taken seriously - we are all animal lovers - but we would like to make the request that the prosecution be handled at this highest levels, perhaps even by DA Hoovler himself. Ms. Ryan has been using her connections and knowledge of police procedure and of the law for some years to evade prosecution. We urge you to come to court prepared, even for a single misdemeanor, to seek the maximum sentence the law allows as well as requesting that Ms. Ryan be added to the Orange County Animal Abuse Registry.
