Hello to all 202,524 of you!! A very quick and exciting email from us today! Tomorrow Tesco is holding a meeting at Head Office regarding their policy on displaying ‪#‎pornpapers‬ at children’s height. And this is all thanks to YOU and the tireless way you have complained in store and via email. It’s great that Tesco are listening but now we need action on this issue. PLEASE TWEET!! @Tesco Here are a few ones you could send..(People are getting so creative and PUNderful with their tweets that we are offering a free t-shirt for the best one. Do tweet @tesco and don't forget to use #pornpapers in your tweet) Please @Tesco stop displaying #pornpapers at child height in store. Change your policy and make stores family friendly Dear @Tesco you may have Everyday Value but let's value what children see and put #pornpapers on the top shelf With @Tesco issuing a profit warning, can it really afford to ignore equality any longer? Put the #pornpapers on the top shelf AND PLEASE EMAIL!! New Tesco CEO, Dave Lewis and customer services dave.lewis@uk.tesco.com, ceo.customerservice@tesco.co.uk (and feel free to copy in nomoresupermarketporn@gmail.com too!) Here is a sample email we've written. We know that you write incredibly powerful and persuasive emails so PLEASE if you have time, do write one yourself. Dear Dave Lewis, As a customer who has complained in store on numerous occasions about the way you position porn papers at children’s height. I would just like to say how grateful I was to learn that you are taking this issue seriously and holding a meeting at Head Office about your policy on this. Sexualised images are not just inside these newspapers but often on the front covers with headlines such as 'It's OK to have sex with ten year olds' and ‘Child killing bastard stabbed me 27 times’. Often these publications advertise children's toys thus further luring children toward this content. I understand that you don't have a say in the editorial content of these papers, however, you most definitely have a say in where this content is displayed. Please Live up to your core values - 'we put our responsibilities to the communities we serve at the heart of what we do' (tescoplc.com). and act and amend your policy about where you display The Sun and Star newspapers in your stores. Thank you so much, you are all incredible! And we’ll be back very soon…with good news! : ) Lucy, Lisa, Sarah, Sarah, Stephanie, Angela, Pippa, Jo, Jo, Yas, Anne-Louise, Brenna, Ceris, Asa and Kathryn
