David Cameron: Stop the pay rise for MPs
This petition had 454,170 supporters
The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority has recommended a 10-11% pay rise for MPs. David Cameron should reject the proposal; it is unfair and unjust while Britain is going through austerity.
Initially the pay rise was meant to involve scrapping expenses (they use our taxes to pay for daily meals, travel costs, second homes, family members, duck ponds etc) but now it seems expenses and pensions are being adjusted to give MPs extra in their wages. All while the government is cutting benefits for vulnerable families, freezing salaries for our beloved nurses and sacking the police and fire service we need to keep our communities safe.
The British public are part of a democratic society and need to express our disbelief at the proposals to yet again, give pay rises to those who don't need them. MPs should not receive a pay rise of any kind during austerity, to show that we're truly 'in this together'.
Please sign this petition and share with your family and friends, together we can make a difference.
Much love and support to everyone who is struggling in austerity Britain.
