Many of you are or will have met others who are currently engaged in the struggle to obtain compensation from the UK Government as a result of the causal link between the Pandemrix H1N1 influenza vaccine and onset of narcolepsy. Whilst the Secretary of State for Health admitted the medical causation link some time ago, people with narcolepsy, many of them children, are still struggling daily with The Department of Work and Pensions to acknowledge both the level of disability that narcolepsy deserves under the Vaccine Damage Payments Act 1979 & subsequent compensation payments. All this whilst still being unable to access medication recommended for their treatment. Narcolepsy is a real leveller and people with narcolepsy deserve respect and understanding of their disability as well as access to recommended treatments.
