Increase Tracey Tindall's ban on pets from 20 years to life

The Issue

You may have seen in the news recently about a woman named Tracey Tindall, who has now been jailed for neglect of several animals. This vile woman left the bodies of cats, dogs including puppies, rabbits and even a bearded dragon to rot and decompose in her own home. She starved these animals of food, water, care and love. The extent of crimes involved the neglect of a dog, left to decompose, a chain round it's neck, still attached the kennel. The RSPCA found surviving animals, but some were put down, whilst others were in such poor condition and suffering from malnutrition.

As an animal lover myself, I cannot even start to comprehend how someone could neglect and torture such innocent and harmless creatures in such a way. What shocked me more was the punishment she received. Tracey Tindall only received an 18 week custodial jail sentence for 20 offences against animals. If these animals were humans for instance, the punishment would be life imprisonment. Even more shocking, she is disqualified from owning animals for ONLY 20 years.

She will be just 66 when the ban is lifted and with that it is 100% guaranteed she could, and would do it all over again.

Disregarding her regret and remorse, I believe Tracey Tindall should be banned from owning pets for life. There is no excuse for allowing these animals to have been treated so horrifically. She was negligent in the fact she didn't ask for help. It is common sense, if you are not able to look after an animal, it is your responsibilty to ensure it goes to someone who can. This woman failed to call or ask for help, instead she did nothing - she didn't feed them, give them water, or even dispose of their bodies. As quoted by Facebook page 'Pet Abuse UK': "The court has shown what's called undue leniency in sentencing this horror. Her jail term works out at one week per animal as she'll be out in next to no time".

With this petition I believe Tracey Tindall's 20 year ban of owning pets should be increased to life. I do not think such a person should even be considered a second chance of having animals in her care again. Please sign this petition to stop this vile woman from ever being able to have animals in her care again!
