Did you know that if your child dies your employer doesn't have to give you time off from work? 3 days seems to be the normal time given. My son Jack died suddenly, and I was to find this out for myself.
Please sign this petition to ask the government to change bereavement leave legislation to protect other parents.

While many good employers offer compassionate leave, there is no statutory right to leave and this campaign aims to introduce four weeks of paid bereavement leave for parents.

In the immediate aftermath of the death parents have to cope with their own loss, the grief of their wider family, including other children, as well as a vast amount of administrative and other arrangements such as the funeral.
