Help former British Soldiers stranded in India

Help former British Soldiers stranded in India

The Issue

6 of your former soldiers are stranded in India, with zero support from the British Government, despite giving years of service to the UK.

Whilst aboard the MV Seaman Guard Ohio (Conducting Anti Piracy Operations),which was anchored off the coast of India, awaiting provisions and fuel, we were asked to go into Tuticorin Port by the Indian Coastguard, following their investigation we were arrested, remanded in custody and eventually charged  for offences under the Arms Act 1959, Essential Commodities Act 1955, Motor Spirit & High Speed Diesel (Regulation of Supply, Distribution and Prevention of Malpractices) Order 1998 and Indian Penal Code 1860.

After being detained in an Indian prison until April 2014, ALL charges against us were quashed by the High Court on the 10th July 2014.

We all thought we would return home then, to finally start our life's again, this was not the case, by this stage one of us had been divorced and lost his home. The Company we were working for (Advanfort) seized paying our wages in November 2013 and seized paying for our food and accommodation in July 2014.

The Estonian Government stepped in to support their men, helping with food, accommodation and providing them with a lawyer....whilst the British Government refused to help us....men who have served the country!

We now possibly face a trial for the charges that have already been quashed once, which may take up to 6 months.

By now some of us have lost homes, had to sell cars and relationships back home are on the verge of breaking down, whilst our government are doing nothing to assist us!

The British Government stated that they cannot get involved in another countries legal matters.

We need support, we are innocent men!

We have served you, it is time you served us!

Please sign this petition and share as much as possible, it is time our government acted! Your help in signing and sharing this will hopefully push the Prime Minister and the British Government to help us in our hour of need, just like we supported them in their hour of need! It is not asking much in return for our service.
