I am in the Nursing program at Davenport University's Warren campus. I love my school and all the faculty. However the grading scale does not comply with what the other Universites in the State are doing. We have to have an average of 80% overall in the class and an 80% testing score average.  Nationally the average is 75%. While 10 other universities in the area are the same. While most schools have a grade cutoff, this is fine. Nursing school is supposed to be challenging. However with the shortage of nurses we already have, this should not be a stipulation. Countless students are failing and even leaving Davenport because of this. Please change this back for students. If we don't, there will be more and more students choosing careers in the other fields. We need this field to grow, especially after the Pandemic. IF you believe in this at all. Please vote for them to change this, this year! Please change the policy to reflect 80% overall in the class and not an average based the grade on test scores as well. Especially for those students who do not test well. Every student learns differently! If we win, society will get the nurses they deserve! Please help me with this!
