Several members of the community of Philippi, former/current students, coaches, and faculty members, along with parents, are grieving the loss of one former and one current student, following the tragic accident that occurred on Alderson Broaddus University's campus recently. The car, having a total of 7 people inside, went over the side of one of the major hills on campus, with no guardrails to prevent them from going over. Along with not having guard rails to stop the car from going over, the lighting on campus is very poor, and poses major safety concerns for everyone travelling to/from the campus, especially at night, which is when this tragedy occurred.

We demand change, and immediately. The safety and security of the students and faculty members is/should be the main focal point at every university, and we don't expect any different here. Several people feel unsafe driving on campus, and we want to see guardrails being added along the roads on ABU's campus, to ensure that no one else has their life taken from them too soon. We are asking for the support of everyone to help make this happen. It could have been any one of us that went over that hill, and still can be if nothing is done about this! Therefore, we demand something be done. Please show your support in this matter of adding guardrails onto Alderson Broaddus University's campus.
