On November 7, 2015 an Oak Ridge, Tennessee resident posted on a closed Facebook thread that they had smothered their dog, a pit bull named Blu.

We, the concerned citizens of East Tennessee are appalled and believe this is a violation of several Tennessee criminal codes. Including at least TCA §§39-14-202, 212, & 215. Because the Oak Ridge City Police Department has refused to investigate, we are petitioning District Attorney, Dave Clark to open a criminal investigation of animal cruelty.
